Restorative Yoga for Grief + Loss

Country Fit, Ellsworth
When my dad passed away in 2019, I found myself overwhelmed by the activities and emotions during the days that followed his death. Sitting in the quiet poses of Restorative Yoga, allowing my heart to open, my body to feel supported, and my mind to relax and come to the moment gave me the space I needed to feel all my emotions, cry when I needed to cry, and just be.
Whatever your loss and wherever you are on your journey, this class is a safe space you can come and just feel. Allow whatever comes up to be there, and spend time welcoming your emotions, whatever they may be. I will provide relaxing music, read meditations to guide our healing process, and support one another in this quiet, sacred experience.
Space is limited to 10 participants. You do not need any previous experience with yoga, and all equipment is available. You may bring your own mat, blanket, and pillow for extra support. Wear comfortable, warm clothing. No cost to attend, free-will donations accepted.
Restorative yoga is a relaxing practice of poses that restore and renew. Poses will be supported by props (provided by the instructor) and made to allow each participant to settle in deeply and effortlessly. Poses are held for 5-10 minutes each while listening to music and guided meditations. When practiced regularly, restorative yoga can help to alleviate stress and anxiety, create mindfulness, connect participants to the present moment, lower heart rate, encourage deeper breathing, relax muscles and joints, create body awareness, and deepen compassion for self and others.
